The Tanjore Tiffin Room

Privacy Policy

Effective from 11 August 2026

The Tanjore Tiffin Room ("TTR", "we", "us", "our") operates restaurants in Versova, Bandra and Nesco (Mumbai), Balewadi (Pune) and Anjuna (Goa), along with this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, reserve a table, or enquire about private dining, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to thetanjoretiffinroom.com and to enquiries made through our reservation widget or WhatsApp.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to run your reservation or respond to your enquiry.

Information you give us directly

  • Table reservations: name, phone number, email address, preferred outlet, date, time and party size, submitted through our third-party booking widget (ReserveGo).
  • Private dining & group enquiries: name, phone number, email address, outlet, guest count, event date, occasion, and any notes you choose to share (such as seating preference or dietary needs). Submitting this form opens a pre-filled WhatsApp message to our group reservations number, so this information is also received and stored within WhatsApp.
  • Direct contact: anything you share when you call an outlet or message us on WhatsApp.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our site and its hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information when you visit — such as your browser type, general device information, approximate location inferred from your IP address, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site. We use this only in aggregate to understand how the website is used and to keep it running reliably; we do not use it to individually identify you.

2. Cookies

Our website may use a small number of cookies and similar technologies — for example, to remember your preferences, to allow our booking widget to function correctly, and, where enabled, to understand overall site traffic through analytics tools such as Google Analytics. These do not include cookies used to sell your data or build advertising profiles for third parties. You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect how well the booking widget works.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To confirm, manage, and follow up on table reservations and private dining bookings.
  • To respond to enquiries sent through our website, by phone, or on WhatsApp.
  • To send booking-related communication — confirmations, reminders, or changes to your reservation.
  • To improve our website and understand which parts of it are useful to visitors.
  • To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations that apply to our business.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

4. Who We Share Information With

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run the parts of our business shown on this website, and only to the extent needed for them to provide that service:

5. Data Retention

We keep reservation and enquiry information for as long as reasonably needed to fulfil your booking, respond to your enquiry, and meet accounting or legal record-keeping requirements — after which it is deleted or anonymised. WhatsApp messages are retained in line with WhatsApp's own retention practices on the device or account used by our team.

6. Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Children's Privacy

Our website and booking services are intended for adults making dining arrangements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and our reservation and enquiry forms are not directed at them.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Visitors Outside India

Our restaurants and operations are based in India, and your information may be processed and stored in India. If you're visiting our website from outside India, you're choosing to share your information with a business operating under Indian law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for instance, as our services or applicable law change. The "Effective from" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. We encourage you to check back occasionally if you'd like to stay informed.
